where this comes from
Short daily sessions are the format that survives
- —
- A drawing-habit app argues that an hour-a-day pledge is the first thing skipped when you are busy, and that drawing with no prompt and no company puts the whole weight of motivation on one person. source
- 10 minutes
- The daily unit in DrawTogether's paid drawing challenge, which pairs ten minutes a day with a participants' chat. source

How the hundred evenings usually go

A decision in the morning, a sentence at night
how it runs
- 01 Three tasks, set while you are still awake Written in the morning, sized for the evening you will realistically have. The tired version of you inherits a list instead of a choice.
- 02 Close the evening in writing What got drawn, what did not, how long it took. Two lines, sent before bed, and the day is accounted for.
- 03 Report into a room, not a void Other people are filing the same short report about the same kind of evening. Yours gets read, and theirs makes an ordinary Tuesday feel survivable.

How the hundred evenings usually go
Calibration. You learn how small a task has to be to survive a nine-hour workday, which is smaller than you think.

A week of overtime arrives. The tasks shrink to ten minutes, the report keeps going out, and the run holds.
A hundred evenings on record, most of them unremarkable. That is what a practice that survived a working year looks like.
Three tasks each morning. One report each night. A hundred days of art.

Questions people ask
Is this a course I follow in the evenings?
No. There is no material to work through. The programme is the daily list, the evening report and the people filing theirs alongside you.
What if some evenings I only get ten minutes?
Then the tasks are ten-minute tasks. A short day still counts as a day, provided the report goes out.
I travel for work. Does that break it?
A pen and a hotel notebook are enough. The format has no requirement about materials or location.
Can I start whenever I want?
Groups begin on a fixed date so everyone is counting the same hundred days. Leave an email and we send the next one.
What does it cost?
Pricing is set when the next group opens. Nothing is taken on this page.
A hundred ordinary evenings, counted
Leave an email and we tell you when the next group starts. No payment is taken here.
- Tasks written in the morning, so the evening only executes
- A short report that closes the day either way
- A group of people drawing around full-time work
We write once, when the next start date is set.
