Two savers · one goal

A hundred-day savings challenge that both of you actually run

Saving as a couple should be twice as fast and usually is not. Two people each assume the other is being careful, neither says the awkward number out loud, and the month ends in a conversation nobody wanted.

the shape of it

How the hundred days tend to go for a pair

1of 100 days

Mostly discovering how differently you two describe the same week. The reports do that within a fortnight.

A hundred days at that pace comes to 1,000. Twelve months of the same habit: 3,650.

Arithmetic in whatever unit you count in. It is a sum, not a forecast.

Day 1–14

Mostly discovering how differently you two describe the same week. The reports do that within a fortnight.

Day 50

The halfway point, where one of you has had a bad stretch and it was logged rather than hidden.

Day 100

Two hundred reports between you and a habit of talking about money in daylight, briefly, without a crisis attached.

Two savers, one blind spot

what goes wrong between two people

Each of you assumes the other is holding the lineWithout a daily record there is no shared picture, only two private impressions of the month that meet at the statement.
The money conversation only happens when it is already badTalking once a month makes every conversation a verdict. Talking for two minutes a day makes it maintenance.
The long version costs yearsCouples who did this describe living with family and flatmates until thirty and working double hours to get there. It works, and it is very slow to feel like anything.

01

Both of you write. Both of you report.

how it runs for two

3 1 ∞ tasks, morning report, night people reading it
  1. 01 Three tasks each, every morning Not one shared list to argue over. Two lists, so responsibility has a name on it before the day starts.
  2. 02 One report at night, written where the other reads it Two lines each. It replaces the monthly reckoning with something too small to dread.
  3. 03 Other couples on the same hundred days Reading someone else describe an ordinary Wednesday is what stops your own ordinary Wednesday from feeling like failure.

before you join

Questions couples ask

Do we both have to join?

It works best that way, because the mechanism is two people writing where the other can read it. One of you alone still gets a working hundred days.

Do you look at our accounts or tell us how to split money?

Neither. How you divide, hold or move money is entirely yours. This is a discipline programme, not financial advice.

What if one of us drops out halfway?

The other keeps reporting. Days are counted individually, and the group stays either way.

Will this tell us when we can buy?

No. Nobody can honestly tell you that, and we will not. The hundred days are about the decisions in front of you, not a purchase date.

Is there a group call?

The core is written: your tasks, your reports and the logs of the people around you.

Three tasks each morning. One report each night. A hundred days of down payment.

One hundred days, two logs

Leave one email and we will tell you when the next group starts.

We write once, when the next group opens. No payment is taken here.
