Hundred

Company · daily, not monthly

Reading with people, without waiting for the monthly meeting

The part you miss is company. What is on offer locally meets once a month at an hour that does not work, and the online version is usually a discussion thread about a book somebody else chose. Neither of those helps on a Tuesday night when the reading is not happening.

the shape of it

What the hundred days usually look like

page 1

Reading other people's reports is the surprise. Seeing a stranger log eleven pages makes eleven pages a legitimate evening.

Day 1–10

Reading other people's reports is the surprise. Seeing a stranger log eleven pages makes eleven pages a legitimate evening.

Day 30

A handful of people in the group become familiar. Their gaps are noticeable, and so are yours.

Day 100

A hundred days shared with people you now recognise, and a log of your own evenings to go with it.

Monthly company, daily problem

why clubs do not solve it

The meeting is a deadline, not a rhythmOne date a month produces a panicked weekend of reading and three quiet weeks. That is the pattern you already have, with a calendar entry attached.
Someone else picks the bookHalf the time it is not what you would have chosen, and reading out of obligation for a discussion is how the habit got unpleasant last time.
Most clubs are a place, not a scheduleThe good ones meet in a city, at a time, in a room. If your evenings are unpredictable or the city is wrong, that is the end of it.

how it runs

Three tasks in the morning, one report at night

01

Everyone counts the same hundred days

One start date, one end date, different books. The shared thing is the calendar, not the title.

02

The reports are the conversation

Short, daily, written. You see who read tonight and what it cost them, which is a more useful kind of company than a monthly opinion round.

03

Nothing to attend

No call to join at eight, no city to live in. The whole rhythm is written, so a shift worker and a parent can be in the same group.

Reasonable questions

So this is not a book club?

No. There is no shared title, no discussion questions and no meeting. What is shared is the hundred days and the daily reporting.

Do I have to post every day?

That is the mechanism, yes. Two lines is enough, and a day with nothing read is still worth reporting.

Are there live sessions?

The core is written so that time zones and shift patterns do not exclude anyone.

Can I join with a friend?

Yes. People often do, and reading different books in the same group works perfectly well.

What does it cost?

Pricing is set when the next group opens. This page collects an email and nothing more.
