Run streak · the count went to zero

Your streak broke. Start the next hundred.

It ended the way they usually end: a flight, a fever, a day that ran out. The mileage was never the point — the unbroken number was, and now the number is gone and the habit went with it.

Every streak format defines what a day is. Ours does too.

how other counts are kept

1 mile

Streak Runners International and the US Running Streak Association certify streaks on one rule: at least one mile of running on every calendar day, registered with them.

Day 1

75 Hard, the template for the fixed-task challenge format, sends you back to day 1 on any miss. We chose the opposite rule: the miss goes in the report and the count continues.

Both rules above are quoted from the organisations that run them. We do not publish numbers we cannot link.

what actually ends streaks

The streak rarely ends on a hard day

how it runs

how it runs

Three tasks in the morning, one report at night

01Three tasks, written before the day gets a voteOne of them is usually the run. The other two are yours. Deciding once in the morning is the whole trick streak runners keep naming.
02The evening report is the countNot the watch, not the app. You write what happened, including nothing, and the day is on the record either way.
03A hundred people counting in the same windowYour log sits beside theirs. Silence gets noticed, which is the difference between this and a number only you could see.

the shape of it

What the hundred days usually look like

day 1

Rebuilding trust in the count. Most of the work is writing easy days on purpose instead of by accident.

Day 1–10

Rebuilding trust in the count. Most of the work is writing easy days on purpose instead of by accident.

Day 30

The first genuine obstacle — travel, illness, a wrecked week. You report it and the hundred days continue.

Day 100

A hundred reported days, and a habit that no longer collapses the moment a day goes wrong.

Three tasks each morning. One report each night. A hundred days of running.

Reasonable questions

Is this a real run streak?

It is a hundred-day reporting streak. Whether you run every calendar day is your decision — a written rest day counts as a reported day.

Do I go back to day 1 if I miss?

No. That rule belongs to 75 Hard and we deliberately did not copy it. A miss is a line in your report.

Does it sync with Strava or Garmin?

No. The report is written by you, in words. Your watch keeps the data, we keep the record of whether you showed up.

Can I register the streak with Streak Runners International as well?

That is between you and them, and their rules are stricter than ours. We are not affiliated with any streak registry.

What happens on day 101?

You have a hundred logs and a count that has already survived a bad week. Plenty of people start a second hundred with a different focus.
